Srinagar: Daily wage workers and casual laborers from the Wildlife Department held a protest outside the Chief Minister’s house in Gupkar, asking for job security and equal pay with other workers.
Dozens of workers gathered to share their concerns, saying they have been working for the department for over ten years without any recognition. “We have been serving here for a long time, but our requests have been ignored,” said one protester, expressing frustration over the lack of response from the government.
The workers called on the government to look into their situation and meet their demands quickly. They want their hard work to be recognized and to receive fair treatment regarding their jobs and pay.

During the protest, a group of workers met with Dr. Farooq Abdullah, the President of the National Conference. The protesters said that Dr. Abdullah promised to discuss their issues with the relevant minister in Jammu on Monday.
However, the workers made it clear that they will continue to protest until their demands are met. They are determined to fight for their rights and seek justice for their years of dedicated service to the Wildlife Department.
