In a tragic road accident on Sunday in the Sanyas area of Kishtwar district, at least four people lost their lives, and two others are reported missing. The incident occurred when a Tata Mobile vehicle, with registration number JK17A-8709, skidded off the road while traveling from Massy to Gulbargh. The vehicle plunged approximately 150 meters into the Chenab River.
The deceased have been identified as Raj Kumar (22), Mukash Kumar (29), Haqiqat Singh (28), and Satish Kumar (26), all residents of Garh Padder. Their bodies have been transported to SDH Atholi for necessary legal procedures. The search continues for the two missing individuals, Ashok Kumar, the driver, and Navrattan, the vehicle owner.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishtwar, Javeed Ahmad Mir, confirmed the deaths and stated that efforts are ongoing to locate the missing persons.
