Akhnoor, February 14, 2025 – An Indian Army soldier was injured by gunfire along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Akhnoor sector on Friday. The soldier was at a forward post in the Battal area when he was hit by a bullet that likely came from across the border.
After the incident, the soldier was quickly taken to a hospital, where he is receiving treatment and is responding well.
Officials have not yet confirmed whether the firing was done by the Pakistan Army or by terrorists. They say it is too early to determine who was responsible.
This incident is part of a series of recent cross-border actions. In the past week, there have been several incidents, including an IED attack by suspected terrorists and a ceasefire violation by Pakistan. On February 11, two Indian Army personnel, including a captain, were killed in the IED attack in the Akhnoor sector. In retaliation, Indian troops reportedly caused heavy casualties to Pakistani forces.
The situation along the LoC remains tense, and security forces are on high alert as they keep a close watch on developments in the area. The ongoing conflict highlights the challenges faced by military personnel stationed along the border.
