Jammu, January 4, 2025 — Local police in Jammu acted quickly after a shooting incident in the New Plot area, arresting the suspect and recovering the weapon used within just six hours.
The trouble started when Advocate Kanav Sharma tried to park his car outside a PDD line man room. A PDD employee named Ravinder Singh objected to the parking, and their argument quickly became heated. During the fight, Singh pulled out his licensed pistol and fired two shots at Sharma. He was rushed to Sarwal Hospital for first aid and later moved to GMC for further treatment.
After the shooting, the Jammu Police came into action. They secured the crime scene and called in forensic teams and crime photographers to collect evidence. A search for Ravinder Singh began right away, using both technology and tips from the public.
The police were able to find Singh and recover the gun he used in the shooting. Officials confirmed that Singh is a permanent government employee currently working at Parade, Jammu, and was on duty in the New Plot area when the incident happened.
A case has been filed at Bakshi Nagar Police Station under FIR No. 01/2025, and the investigation is ongoing to find out more about what happened. The quick response from the Bakshi Nagar police has been praised by the local community, showing how effective their actions were.
