Srinagar, March 11 : Sartaj Altaf Bhat, a young and talented journalist from South Kashmir, has made a name for himself in multiple fields, including Editing ,photography, journalism, and social work. Known for highlighting public issues and advocating for the underprivileged, he has won widespread appreciation for his dedication.
A resident of Niloora, Pulwama, Sartaj is currently working as a Managing Editor at Dogra Times while also pursuing a Master’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication. His passion for photography and journalism has driven him to work tirelessly to bring attention to social issues and bring them to the notice of the authorities.
“I am very passionate about photography and spend my days improving my skills,” Sartaj said. Despite the challenges, his dedication never wavered. “When I had no camera, I used to take photos with my Android phone, which felt like a DSLR to me. Now, I have three to four cameras in hand,” he added.
Beyond journalism, Sartaj is also known for his social work. He has consistently raised concerns about the problems faced by the poor and marginalized communities, working towards their resolution. His efforts have earned him several awards from the district administration in recognition of his contributions to journalism.
Having worked with several leading news organizations across the country and Kashmir’s top newspapers, Sartaj credits his success to his family’s unwavering support during the early days of his career.
With a strong presence on social media and a reputation as one of Kashmir’s prominent editors, Sartaj remains committed to his work. “Journalism requires dedication, integrity, and hard work. For me, every day is the same—I follow my routine with the same commitment,” he said.
