SRINAGAR: On Thursday, Senior National Conference (NC) leader and Member of Parliament, Aga Syed Ruhullah, stated that the reservation issue is his top priority, more important than any personal or political interests. After reviewing central projects and schemes in Srinagar, Ruhullah emphasized the importance of reservations for achieving social justice and helping underprivileged communities. He said, “Political ambitions should not overshadow the goal of ensuring equal opportunities for marginalized groups.”
Ruhullah expressed that the reservation issue and the welfare of students are very important to him. He urged everyone to speak up to protect these concerns.
In response to comments by Apni Party president, Syed Altaf Bukhari, Ruhullah dismissed them as outdated tactics. He said, “The public is smart enough to know the difference between genuine efforts and mere dramatics. It’s unwise to underestimate their intelligence.” Ruhullah suggested that Bukhari’s views reflect his own experiences and show a lack of respect for people’s judgment.
Earlier, Bukhari had posted on ‘X’ that political tricks were outdated and people could tell the difference between real efforts and theatrics.
Ruhullah urged journalists to focus on real issues, saying, “Journalists should highlight the concerns that matter instead of creating unnecessary controversies. The focus should remain on addressing the students’ concerns.” This was in response to reporters asking about NC leader Salman Sagar’s claim that Ruhullah’s participation in the protest gave critics a platform.
