The main celebrations are taking place at Kartavya Path in New Delhi, where the country is showcasing its rich culture, military strength, and commitment to democracy. President Droupadi Murmu is leading the celebrations, and the chief guest for the event is Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.
The Indian Army is participating in the Republic Day parade, with the 61 Cavalry leading the Mounted Column. This unique regiment, formed in 1953, is the only active horsed cavalry unit in the world. Following the cavalry, there will be nine mechanized columns and nine marching groups, including the Brigade of the Guards, the Jat Regiment, the Garhwal Rifles, the Mahar Regiment, Jammu & Kashmir Rifles, and the Corps of Signals.
In an effort to involve more people, around 10,000 special guests have been invited to watch the parade. These guests come from various backgrounds and are recognized for their achievements and contributions to the country.
For the first time, a tri-services tableau will be part of the parade, showing how the three branches of the armed forces work together. The theme of the tableau is ‘Shashakt aur Surakshit Bharat,’ which means ‘Strong and Secure India,’ and it will display a Joint Operations Room that highlights communication among the military services.
As the nation comes together to celebrate its Constitution and democratic values, the Republic Day events reflect the unity and pride of the Indian people.
