Qazigund, 19 March – Ravinder Raina, the former President of the Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), along with Choudhary Zulfkar Ali, met with the families of Gujjar Bakerwal victims in Qazigund on Wednesday. The visit aimed to show support for the families affected by recent tragic events.
Raina was joined by BJP District President Kulgam Farooq Rather, Senior Leader Abid Hussain, District President Anantnag Rakesh Koul, and other party leaders. He spoke to the families about the situation of three young men who had been missing. The bodies of two of them, Shouket Bajad and Riyaz Ahmad, have been found, but the third person, Mukhtar Ahmed, is still missing. The administration has not provided clear information about what happened.
During the visit, Raina assured the families that they would receive justice and all possible help. He urged the National Conference (NC) government to speed up the investigation into the disappearances. He emphasized that young people are the future of society and that the administration should use more resources to support the victim families.
Raina also promised to talk to the right authorities to ensure that strong measures are taken in the investigation.
Choudhary Zulfkar Ali agreed with Raina and called for better coordination between law enforcement, local authorities, and the public to handle the situation. He assured the families that they would receive relief soon.
The meeting highlighted ongoing concerns about the safety of the Gujjar Bakerwal community in the area. As the investigation continues, local leaders and community members hope for a quick resolution and justice for the affected families.
