The Pulwama Police have arrested a drug dealer and taken a significant amount of drugs off the streets. The arrest happened at a police checkpoint near Shah Hotel at SIDCO Lassipora Crossing.
According to police reports, officers from Police Station Litter stopped a suspicious person who tried to run away when he saw them. The quick-thinking police managed to catch him. The suspect has been identified as Sahil Rashid Sheikh, 24, son of Abdul Rashid Sheikh, from Tumlahal.
During the search, police found 17.50 grams of a substance that looks like heroin in his possession. This action is part of the police’s ongoing efforts to fight drug-related crimes in the area.
After the arrest, police registered a case under FIR Number 38/2025 at Police Station Litter, following the rules of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. An investigation is now underway to find out more about the drugs and where they came from.
