Jammu: On Wednesday Police stopped Congress workers from marching to the Raj Bhavan in Jammu. They were protesting against the BJP’s support for billionaire Gautam Adani and its failure to maintain peace in Manipur.
The Congress workers gathered at their headquarters on MA Road. When they tried to leave and march towards the Raj Bhavan, police closed the gate of the Congress office, keeping them inside.
Congress leaders told reporters that their protest was against the BJP’s defense of Adani and the ongoing violence in Manipur. They wanted to march to the Raj Bhavan but were stopped by the police.
A Congress leader claimed that Adani should be arrested because he is involved in a big scam, even with the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited.
The Congress workers also called for a joint committee of Parliament to investigate Adani’s business dealings.
