Udhampur: A special event happened for the National Cadet Corps (NCC) when cadets from the new 1 J&K Air Squadron took their first flight on January 17, 2025. This is an important moment for the NCC because it shows they want to give cadets exciting chances to learn about flying.
The first flight took place in Udhampur, organized by the NCC in Jammu Kashmir & Ladakh. The cadets had a great time and learned about flying. The 1 J&K Air Squadron, led by Wing Commander Nitin Yadav, is the first Air NCC squadron in this area. It helps cadets learn about flying and adventure.
The squadron has small Microlight planes to train cadets. This helps them get ready for future jobs in the armed forces and other areas. Cadet Siya Kotwal from SKUAST Jammu was the first to fly. She said, “Flying was amazing! It’s a dream come true. I never thought I would get this chance. This flight has inspired me to follow my passion for flying.”
Cadet Aviral from Army Public School Udhampur was also very happy. He said, “This flying experience has motivated me to work hard to join the Armed Forces. I will always remember this special experience.” Other cadets, like Akshat Gupta and Bhumika Sharma, were also excited about their first flight.
Wing Commander Nitin Yadav talked about how important this flight is. He said, “This first flight is not just about flying; it’s a new step for the NCC to inspire young people to follow their dreams. We are proud to give cadets chances to try new things and learn new skills.”
This successful flight will lead to more chances for cadets to learn and grow. The NCC wants to offer more training in flying and adventure, helping cadets build confidence and teamwork.
The 1 J&K Air Squadron NCC in Udhampur will help improve flying training in the area. This will prepare young leaders for the future and encourage them to help our country grow.
