Samba Feb 27: A Shiv temple in the Goramorh area of Vijaypur was struck by lightning on Thursday, damaging its dome and injuring one person. The incident happened while a group of devotees was gathered for a “langar” service to celebrate Mahashivratri.
Officials reported that the lightning strike knocked down a “Kalash” from the top of the temple, causing stones to fall and hitting a nearby devotee. Thankfully, the injuries were minor, and the person received medical help quickly.
At the time of the lightning strike, the temple was filled with worshippers, making the event particularly unfortunate during this important festival for Lord Shiva.
Emergency services arrived at the scene to check the damage and ensure the safety of everyone present. Officials are now looking into the condition of the temple to see if it is still safe.
