Uttar Pradesh, Dec 16 : On Monday, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha honored and engaged with the youth during the Pratibha Samman Samaroh held at Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Degree College in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh.
This event was organized to mark the death anniversary of Shri Satya Deo Singh, a former Member of Parliament and esteemed BJP leader. During the memorial, the Lieutenant Governor paid tribute to Shri Satya Deo Singh, reflecting on his devoted service to the nation and his dedication to public welfare.
“Satya Deo Singh was a highly respected leader who made significant contributions throughout his extensive public career, which spanned over four decades. He recognized the future’s needs and the challenges facing India, consistently striving to provide solutions that ensure social equality and equal opportunities for all,” the Lieutenant Governor stated.
In his speech, the Lieutenant Governor discussed the significant transformations occurring in the higher education sector over recent years, guided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He pointed out that the forward-thinking National Education Policy is establishing a solid foundation for future development.
He noted that advancements in knowledge connectivity, skill development, entrepreneurship, and sustainable growth have positioned India as a new engine of global growth. The Lieutenant Governor stressed the vital role that educational institutions play in preparing the future workforce and achieving the vision of a developed India.
He remarked that educational institutions are key to national progress, encouraging learning that extends beyond traditional classroom settings. The National Education Policy 2020 focuses on building capacity to adapt to ever-changing circumstances.
It empowers colleges to foster new discoveries and innovations. We must implement necessary reforms, aligned with NEP 2020, to create an environment that enables students to develop the skills and values needed to tackle real-world challenges, he added.
“We are currently the fastest-growing economy, but our goal is to ensure that by 2047, India’s share of global GDP exceeds a quarter,” he emphasized. The Lieutenant Governor also offered valuable insights on promoting innovation, research, and interdisciplinary education in higher education institutions.
Every higher education institution should prioritize four key aspects: Access, Equity, Quality, and Outcomes, while nurturing scientific thinking, curiosity, and creativity among students. He further urged that youth should be prepared for moral leadership and inspire others to contribute to societal welfare.
During the event, the Lieutenant Governor recognized individuals excelling in various fields. He also inaugurated the Shastri Pavilion at Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Degree College and launched a publication from the Satya Saroj Foundation.
Neha Sharma, President of the college’s Managing Committee; Varsha Singh, Vice President of the Managing Committee; members of the Satya Saroj Foundation; as well as prominent community members, faculty, and students from the college were also in attendance.
