The Cyber Cell of Kulgam Police has successfully resolved several cases of online financial fraud, recovering a total of ₹13,69,377 for the victims.
The police received multiple complaints about fraudulent schemes that promised high returns on fake investment opportunities, leading to losses amounting to ₹13,69,377. Victims were lured into making additional deposits with the promise of significant profits.
Acting promptly, the Cyber Police in Kulgam gathered evidence and information from the affected individuals. Using advanced cyber techniques, they managed to freeze the fraudulent transactions. As a result, the entire amount was recovered and credited back to the victims’ accounts.
Kulgam Police advises the public to remain vigilant against online scams, including fake trading platforms. They urge people to avoid clicking on suspicious links, ignore fake SMS credit messages, and refrain from installing unauthorized applications. Additionally, they warn against accepting video calls from unknown numbers and sharing personal information online.
If anyone encounters suspicious activities, they are encouraged to report them immediately to the National Cyber Crime Helpline at 1930.
