Kulgam, March 8 – The Kulgam Police have successfully solved a theft case involving stolen popular trees. They recovered the stolen trees and arrested five suspects.
The incident came to light when Mukhtar Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Churat Qazigund, filed a complaint at Police Station Kund. Bhat reported that during the night of March 4-5, 2025, unknown individuals had stolen his popular trees, which were left dumped on the roadside at Waltengo, Kund.
After receiving the complaint, the police registered a case (FIR No. 05/2025) and started an investigation. The team, led by the Station House Officer (SHO) of Police Station Kund, worked hard to find the stolen trees.
Thanks to their efforts, the police recovered the stolen trees and arrested five people involved in the theft. The suspects are Manzoor Ahmad Deeded, Mohd Hanif Deeded, and Maneer Ahmad Deeded, all sons of Rajwali Deeded from Nigeenpora Nad. The other two suspects are Rajesh Kumar, son of Parveen Kumar from Hameerpora Himachal, and Basharat Ahmad Tenda, son of Mohd Shafi Tenda from Waltengo Nad.
The investigation is still ongoing to see if more people were involved in the theft. Kulgam Police have promised to keep fighting crime and ensuring the safety of the community.
