In a significant move to address rising concerns over illegal and immoral activities, Jammu Police conducted surprise raids at 20 spa centres across the jurisdictions of Police Station Channi and Trikuta Nagar today. This coordinated operation, which lasted four hours, involved multiple teams of law enforcement officials and was executed under the guidance of the Jammu civil administration.
The operation was spearheaded by the Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPO) of East and South, along with the Superintendent of Police (SP) for City South, all under the overall supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, Joginder Singh. The initiative was prompted by numerous complaints from civil society members regarding suspicious activities occurring in these establishments.
During the raids, police teams, which included female officers and magistrates, meticulously checked the documentation and registers maintained at the spa centres. In a bid to gather evidence related to the allegations, several Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) were seized for further analysis.
As a result of the operation, approximately two dozen individuals found within the spa centres have been detained for questioning. Legal action is being initiated in accordance with the law, and First Information Reports (FIRs) have been registered at the relevant police stations under applicable legal provisions.
The public response to the police’s decisive action has been overwhelmingly positive, with many citizens and netizens expressing their appreciation for the efforts to uphold law and order in the community. The Jammu Police’s proactive stance reflects a commitment to addressing public concerns and ensuring the safety and integrity of local businesses.
As investigations continue, authorities are expected to provide further updates on the outcomes of this extensive operation.
