Jammu, 21 January 2025 – Authorities have stated that the shooting death of a man in the Jewal Chowk area of Jammu on Tuesday afternoon is linked to gang rivalry, and there is no connection to terrorism. Anand Jain, the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) for Jammu, told reporters that the incident was caused by a conflict between rival gangs.
The victim, 37-year-old Sumit Jandial from Vijaypur in Samba, was shot by unknown attackers in the busy area. Police believe that members of the Gataru gang targeted him because he was part of a rival group.

In response to the shooting, police have started a large search to find the attackers. They are working hard to gather information and catch those responsible.
