Srinagar, 24 January – A fire broke out in a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) barrack at the Indoor Stadium in Srinagar, damaging the personal belongings and bedding of the 25th Battalion personnel. Thankfully, no one was hurt in the incident.
The fire started during the night and was quickly controlled by firefighters from the Fire and Emergency Services Department. An official stated that the fast response of the firefighting team helped stop the flames from spreading further.
The barrack mainly housed the personal items of the troopers stationed there. While many belongings were destroyed, the quick action of the firefighters prevented more serious damage.
