Ganderbal- A grocery shop owned by Javed Ahmed Khan, the son of Sher Khan, was completely destroyed in a fire early this morning. The fire started around 2:30 AM, likely due to an electrical short circuit.
The fire brigade arrived about an hour later, at 3:40 AM, but by then, the shop was already badly damaged. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries or casualties among the community.
Firefighters used five fire extinguishers to try to put out the flames. The Army’s 34 Assam also helped with the firefighting efforts.
Authorities are now looking into the damage and investigating how the fire started. The local community is supporting Javed Ahmed Khan as he deals with the loss of his business.
As the investigation continues, residents are reminded to be careful with electrical appliances to help prevent fires in the future.
