Defence Minister Rajnath Singh delivered a powerful message to Pakistan on Tuesday, asserting that Jammu and Kashmir remains “incomplete” without Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). Speaking at a gathering of armed forces veterans in Akhnoor, urging Pakistan to shut down its terror camps or face serious consequences.
Singh noted that the situation in Jammu and Kashmir has changed a lot since the removal of Article 370. He said, “Jammu and Kashmir is incomplete without PoJK, which is an important part of India.”
He pointed out that for Pakistan, PoJK is just foreign land, and the people of Jammu and Kashmir do not want the same things as Pakistan. Singh mentioned that many local people have sacrificed a lot in the fight against terrorism and that PoJK is used by Pakistan to train terrorists.
He warned Pakistan, saying, “Pakistan must destroy these terror camps, otherwise…” Singh also criticized Anwar-ul-Haq, the so-called prime minister of PoJK, for supporting Pakistan’s anti-India agenda. He said that the people of PoJK have been treated poorly and used by Pakistan to spread terror in India.
Singh condemned Pakistan’s support for terrorism, stating, “Pakistan has always tried to destabilize India. Even with international pressure, it continues to support terrorism. The terrorists coming into Jammu and Kashmir are from Pakistan.”
In addition to his comments on terrorism, Singh announced that mobile medical units will be sent to help ex-servicemen and their families in remote areas. He said, “The government is taking steps to support ex-servicemen and their families. This year, we are introducing mobile medical units for veterans in remote areas.”
The event was held at Tanda Artillery Brigade in Akhnoor to celebrate the ninth Armed Forces Veterans’ Day. It was attended by important figures like J-K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan. Abdullah praised the armed forces for their service and promised to support veterans.
Singh also remembered the bravery of the Indian Army during the 1965 war with Pakistan, highlighting the success at the Battle of Akhnoor. He stated, “Pakistan has lost every war against India, whether it was in 1948, 1965, 1971, or 1999. In each case, Pakistan faced defeat.”
He also talked about missed chances to gain more after the 1965 war and concluded by saying that removing Article 370 was a step to change the situation with terrorism.
