Rajouri: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah held an important meeting today to talk about the serious situation in Budhal village, where 16 people have died under mysterious circumstances, and one more person has recently passed away from an unknown illness. The meeting included key officials, such as the Health Minister, Sakeena Itoo, and other senior medical and police staff.
During the meeting, the Health Secretary shared what has been done so far. He said that health teams have visited over 3,000 homes in the area to collect and test samples of water, food, and other things. All test results, including those for flu and other possible germs, came back negative.
The meeting also mentioned that top national health institutes, like the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and others, have done additional tests, but they still have not found a clear reason for the deaths. Police officials said they are investigating to find out what caused the deaths, which have mostly affected three families living close to each other.
Chief Minister Abdullah stressed the need to act quickly. He told the health and police departments to speed up their investigations. “The unknown cause of these deaths is very worrying, and the government is determined to find out what happened as soon as possible. I ask all departments to work together and do everything they can to solve this problem,” he said.
He also mentioned that the health department has been active in the village for the past 40 days, providing ambulances, medicines, and other important services to help with emergencies. Abdullah expressed his sympathy to the families who have lost loved ones and assured the public that the situation is being taken very seriously.
“The health and safety of our people are our top priority. The government is fully committed to solving this crisis and helping the affected families,” he added.
As the investigation continues, the community hopes for answers and a resolution to this troubling situation.
