Budgam, Dec 8: As part of ongoing efforts to combat drug-relatedissues in the community, Budgam Police apprehended a drug dealer in the area under the jurisdiction of Police Post Soibugh and confiscated illegal substances.
Police Post Soibugh was tipped off by reliable sources regarding a suspect, ‘Manzoor Ahmed Bhat, son of Ab Kareem Bhat, resident of Nadigam,’ who was believed to be hiding contraband in his home. Following this information, a specialized team was formed under the supervision of the Dysp Headquarters Budgam, led by the in-charge of Police Post Soibugh. Along with independent witnesses, they conducted a raid on the suspect’s residence.
During the operation, they recovered 14 kilograms of charas in powder form, which was seized, and the suspect was arrested at the scene. A case under FIR No. 464/2024, according to sections 8 and 20 of the NDPS Act, has been filed at the Budgam Police Station. The investigation into the matter is ongoing.
