Doda: Last night at around 1:30 am, thieves broke into Rehman Jewellery shop near Jamia Masjid in Nehru Chowk and stole about ₹2 lakh worth of silver ornaments. The shop owner, Azhar Zarger, reported the theft and expressed his worries about the increasing crime in the area.
The police have started investigating the incident and have obtained CCTV footage showing one of the thieves entering the shop. This footage may help them catch the criminals.
This theft is part of a worrying trend, as Doda town and nearby areas have seen many thefts in the last two months. The local community is very concerned about these incidents. Just a few days ago, civil society groups in Doda held a press conference to discuss the ongoing thefts.
