Jammu Feb 24: A serious accident happened on the Mehad-Neera-Kanthi link road in Ramban tehsil on Monday. One woman lost her life, and 12 other people were injured.
Police reports say that a Tata Sumo vehicle with the registration number JK19A-1331 was on its way from Chabba to Ramban when it skidded off the road and fell into a gorge near the Galli area of Upper Neera.
The woman who died was identified as 33-year-old Sankesha Devi, the wife of Raghbeer Singh, who lived in Chabba, Ramban. The other 12 passengers, including the driver, suffered injuries in the accident.
Emergency services quickly took all the injured people to the District Hospital Ramban for treatment. The police are investigating what caused the accident, and more information is expected to be released soon.
This tragic event highlights the need for road safety, especially in hilly areas.
