Cyber Cell Ganderbal Recovered ₹17 Lakh From Financial Frauds, Recovers ₹16 Lakh Worth of Smartphones

The Cyber Cell in Ganderbal is working hard to fight cyber crimes. In just nine months, they have recovered INR 17 lakhs from financial frauds and found lost or stolen mobile phones worth INR 16 lakhs.

Since starting in March 2024, the Cyber Cell has recovered 87 mobile phones. They returned 74 phones earlier and handed over 13 more phones today. The total value of these phones is INR 16 lakhs.

In cases of financial fraud, the Cyber Cell managed to recover INR 17 lakhs. Out of this, INR 3,78,527 has already been returned to the victims’ accounts.

They have also solved more than 56 cases of blackmailing and social media account hacking, bringing relief to the victims.

Today, a small meeting was held where 13 mobile phones were given back to their owners. The people thanked the Ganderbal Police for their efforts.

SSP Ganderbal promised to keep working hard to stop cyber crimes. He asked the public to report any issues and assured them that their complaints would be handled with care.

He also announced a 24/7 Cyber helpline number, 9541786772, for people in Ganderbal to get help with any cyber-related problems.

Moreover with regards to financial fraud cases, cyber cell Ganderbal accounted for 17 Lakhs INR out of which 3,78,527 INR has been already credited to victim’s account.
