Rajouri, Jammu – A strange illness is causing concern in the Badhaal area of Rajouri district, with 3 new cases reported recently. The affected individuals are being taken to hospitals for better medical care as officials try to understand what is happening.
On Tuesday, a 25-year-old man named Aijaz Ahmad showed symptoms of this unknown illness. He was first taken to Government Medical College (GMC) in Jammu and then moved to PGIMER in Chandigarh for further treatment. On Wednesday, two more people from the same area also showed similar symptoms and are now being sent for advanced medical attention.
To address the situation, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, visited the Koteranka area to monitor the health crisis. Over the past 50 days, 17 people have died in the area, raising alarms and prompting investigations to find out why.
Although officials say there is no evidence of a virus or infection, the Badhaal area has been declared a containment zone. The homes of affected families have been sealed, and those who have been in close contact with them are being checked at GMC Rajouri.
