The District Development Commissioner (DDC) of Shopian has suspended three engineers for not doing their jobs during snow clearing operations. The engineers, named Muhammad Noordin, Zaffar Ahmed, and Muhammad Saleem, were supposed to help clear snow and assist the public but were found missing from their work areas without permission.
An official investigation showed that their absence was a serious issue because everyone else in the administration was working hard to deal with the heavy snowfall. The Deputy Commissioner issued an order stating this breach of duty.
While an inquiry is being conducted by the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), the suspended engineers have been assigned to report immediately to the 24/7 Control Room in Shopian.
It has also been decided that these engineers will not receive their salaries until the inquiry is completed and further actions are taken based on its findings.
The District Police have been asked to ensure that the engineers report to the control room right away.
The ADDC Shopian has been given the responsibility to complete the inquiry and submit a detailed report by January 1, 2025.
